2014 Photographer's Market

audiobook 2014 Photographer's Market by From North Light Books in Arts-Photography

Description

Exhibition environments are enticingly complex spaces: as facilitators of experience; as free-choice learning contexts; as theaters of drama; as encyclopedic warehouses of cultural and natural heritage; as two-; three- and four-dimensional storytellers; as sites for self-actualizing leisure activity. But how much do we really know about the moment-by-moment transactions that comprise the intricate experiences of visitors? To strengthen the disciplinary knowledge base supporting exhibition design; we must understand more about what lsquo;goes onrsquo; as people engage with the multifaceted communication environments that are contemporary exhibition spaces. The in-depth; visitor-centered research underlying this book offers nuanced understandings of the interface between visitors and exhibition environments. Analysis of visitorsrsquo; meaning-making accounts shows that the visitor experience is contingent upon four processes: framing; resonating; channeling; and broadening. These processes are distinct; yet mutually influencing. Together they offer an evidence-based conceptual framework for understanding visitors in exhibition spaces. Museum educators; designers; interpreters; curators; researchers; and evaluators will find this framework of value in both daily practice and future planning. Designing for the Museum Visitor Experience provides museum professionals and academics with a fresh vocabulary for understanding what goes on as visitors wander around exhibitions.

Not a bad read; just not altogether what I was expectingBy SlappyWas hoping for more concrete information and details about how to create/manipulate tone. This book gave some interesting background and historical information but not much in the way of specific steps "How to recreate this tone"; or "input these settings on equipment that meets these specs; to create these tones" or "these three pedals/amps connected in this fashion create this tone; while reordering them in this fashion changes it in this manner". And while I realize that "tone" is unique to each individual and each of the infinite variable in the environment; based on the title/introduction I was hoping for more specifics. Not a bad read; just not altogether what I was expecting.0 of 0 people found the following review helpful. Good but.....By Samuel PottsAbout 1/3 way through the book;skipped to parts I was looking for; and Ive already learned A LOT more about electric guitars; but like other semi-disappointed customers where it succeeds in the whos whats whens wheres and whys; it falls short on the hows. Doesnt go in depth about how to achieve the tone you want. Its like youre given the tools and materials but no manual. BUT with that said this is still a good purchase; just follow this up with a book that goes in extra depth about pedals; amp controls; etc.2 of 2 people found the following review helpful. If you are looking for a book that provides actual amp setting this is not it. Still good informaton.By Andrew TorresI was looking for a book that would give me instructions on amp settings and how they affected the sound of an electric guitar. It has good information (most of which I already new). It did provide information how the internal components of an Tube function and how Tubes work on the sound of a guitar.
