The authors are both directors of episodic television and they not only cover "how to;" they also give valuable work relationship advice and excellent examples of how to solve logistic and creative challenges on a budget. If you work in television or plan to; this should be your handy guide. You dont need to have aspirations to direct. No matter what your position; youll gain real world insight into this world by reading (and re-reading) this book.1 of 1 people found the following review helpful. Consider this book if youre serious about directing filmBy RaffLimaI am a film student studying directing and I found this book to be extremely useful for helping me understand what directing is. I was looking for good recommendations from the DGA (Directors Guild of America) site and this was highly recommended. I LOVE this book. It tells you the day by day of a director; how to work with the cast and crew; set terminology or just about anything you can imagine you need to know about directing. This even tells you how you can attempt to get a directing job.Ive read over 50 books on directing and I consider this one my favorite. This book is a valuable resource for beginning directors and if you can only buy one book; buy this one.0 of 0 people found the following review helpful.
