A Guide to Medical Photography

ePub A Guide to Medical Photography by From Springer in Arts-Photography

Description

This book is the fullest and most detailed study yet published in English of Ernst Tollers plays and their most significant productions. In particular the productions directed by Karl-Heinz Martin; Jurgen Fehling and Erwin Piscator are closely analyzed and the author demonstrates how; brilliant though they were; they obscured or even distorted Tollers intentions. The plays are seen as eminently stage-worthy while worth lies in Tollers use of language; both in prose and inverse. The neglected puppet-play The Scorned Lovers Revenge is analyzed from a new perspective in the light; both of its language and its sexual theme; so important in Tollers writings as a whole. The reader is led to appreciate why Toller was regarded as the most outstanding German dramatist of his generation until; after his death in 1939 his reputation was overlaid by that of Brecht. This book should do much to restore Toller to his proper place in theatre history.

But as far as the book itself I like it. I have been looking for something similar to this for a little while. There is one set of photos where the model a pregnant woman is nude; however you can only see her chest. Which if it did not have that in it; it would have made a good coffee table book; or a book to readily show clients. Also theres a few sets where different models are posing in milk. The photographer used a makeshift large pool of milk to have the different models pose in it. The quality of these photos is subpar. However it gives some ideas and room to create something unique.I ordered this book after reading several reviews; most were obscured or outright wrong. This book is a good teaching tool for improving on your own work. Most of the photos and lessons so to speak; start out with what the photo looked like when it was being shot. Then it shows what the end result is after editing. And it gives a brief tutorial on how it was accomplished. This is not a in-depth book on how to setup lighting; pose your model; or how to edit the photos. Instead it gives a brief tutorial on each photo shown. I would say it is more for the professional who is looking to get some new ideas. Or the professional who is just starting out within fine art photography. I find it to be a simple book of ideas to get the creative juices flowing.0 of 0 people found the following review helpful. I tried to get the sample before buying but it ...By E. SzolisI tried to get the sample before buying but it failed to download so I took my chances and bought the Kindle version. I should have gotten the other book I was looking at... "The Dramatic Portrait: The Art of Crafting Light and Shadow" I went cheap and paid for it in the end. I suppose this is ok if you are more about post processing fakery than authenticity and thats alright if that is your aesthetic; it is not mine however. Beyond that there is not a lot of instruction here; the author chooses a theme and shoots a foundation then waves the Photoshop magic wand to finish the process. Nowhere is there anything about you creating something original only a series of their images based on widely known stories; or works of art; and how they were produced; including the ubiquitous "Ophelia"Not really what I was looking for.0 of 0 people found the following review helpful. She is a wonderfully talented teacher and artistBy Raymond PeeplesI was blessed with the opportunity to study with Nylora Bruleigh for two days in her Concord New Hampshire studio. I have since that time; referred to my photography as before Nylora; "BN" and after Nylora "AN". She is a wonderfully talented teacher and artist; always willing to share with us her unique vision; as we crafted images in her class. When I found out that she had compiled a book with much of that class content; I pre-ordered my copy the same day and waited the many months it took to arrive with bated breath! Her willingness to share is truly apparent in the book! She has compiled with great care and attention to detail; many of the lessons we learned first hand as well others that we did not. This book contains so much it would take many weeks to accomplish in a class; and has since became both an inspiration and continuous reference for me!This book now lives on my desk and not the bookshelf! If expanding your photography in creative and beautiful manor is your goal; then "Fine Art Portrait Photography" is a must have guide to learning to see!Raymond C. Peeples Jr.Peeples Photography
