She hails the importance of her parents in her early learning and experiences in the arts. And she describes coming face-to-face with racism; not just as a child living in the segregated South but also as an adult out and about in the world. 8 of 8 people found the following review helpful. Not a Deep Look; but a Shallow Year.By Tammy DeeDeeAndy Cohens first book made me love him; but this actually proved to do the opposite. The title is correct. It is incredibly shallow. However; there was no "Deep Look". The only good parts of the book centered around his dog and his mom. It is hard to hear someone of his status lamenting over trivial things occurring around him and other famous people. Save your money.7 of 7 people found the following review helpful. B O R I N G !By PerryI love Andy Cohen; and love Watch What Happens Live-----but this is one of the singularly most boring books ever written! Its not funny; its not entertaining;and its not informative. Its just boring. He doesnt give enough details when he should. Further; his stories are bland and not funny. Sad that what should and could have been a fabulous book was merely mundane. I quit reading at 31 percent through. Sad.26 of 28 people found the following review helpful. This book is a waste of money and timeBy avid readerThis book is a waste of money and time. Unless you want to know how much his dog poops; how much and where Andy eats (constantly); and where hes looking for love (?) dont bother.
