Books about railroads typically include a roster of all locomotives; because that is a subject that interests almost all railroad fans. The locomotives are at the heart of a railroads operation. There was no such roster here. It can be found elsewhere ; but it would have been handy to have it in this book.Page 38: "An unnumbered engine" appears to be No. 11 or No. 12; still lettered for the Buffalo Susquehanna Railroad.Page 41 : "Another unmarked engine" appears to be No.11 or No.12 .Page 44: Walschaerts is mis-spelled.Page 50: The slope-back tenders did not have decreased coal capacity ; they had decreased water capacity.Page 78: Between the locomotive and the caboose is what appears to be a scale test car. This could have been mentioned.Page 79 : The "unidentified passenger car" is clearly a Budd RDC (Railway Diesel Car).Pages 100 - 101 : We are told Don Lee is present. Which one is he?These errors; and the lack of a locomotive roster; could have been avoided if a knowledgeable railroad enthusiast had been consulted. The book is good; but it could have been better.0 of 0 people found the following review helpful.
