The authors do an outstanding job of explaining the Great Depression; and they do it in about 12 paragraphs so you dont have to suffer very long with the explanation. The legacy of the Texas CCC state parks is examined. This is an approachable book with plenty of fresh thoughts and outstanding illustrations.2 of 2 people found the following review helpful. Great History!By Dottie LouI chose this rating because of the pictures and narrative. My father was in CCC in Mississippi and as a little girl I heard him say many many times; "When I was in CC Camp..." It is great that Dr. Brandimarte encapsulates this period of history for Texas and for such a meaningful and memorable time in all of our history. Dad is thoroughly engrossed in it--at age 95!
