Close Up Discoveries is Key to LearningBy Richard WalkerI bought this book to provide a solid background on the art of Close UP and Macro Photography. It does that.I learned the difference between close up and macro photography and the 40mm prime lens that I already own; works extremely well for close ups of the flowers and circuit boards; etc. that I use as my current subjects. I have yet to get into the adapter rings and lens mounts; etc. required for true macro photography (1:1 on the sensor). MacroBy Jean MantheiLiked the pictures and he wasnt stingy with nice pictures that inspired. And they helped to illustrate good composition; color and textures with respect to macro photography. I wondered what a whole book would have to say on macro photography--its more than just snapping a closeup photo and he gets into more the artistic realm and adds some dimension with the use of filters and things in Photoshop. It is not as detailed as Harnischmachers recent book; but it is eminently readable and has a lot of good ideas. I not only enjoyed reading it; but learned some things I did not know as well.
