I sincerely hope that someone will take up the continuing train of thoughts in analyzing the historical importance of this Deaf Community. Having parents who spent over 35 years in Baltimore; it was a community that was sharply different from its sister Deaf Community in Washington; D.C. (home of Gallaudet University). It was important to witness that the Baltimore area had its own rich resources and should not be forgotten. This is so interesting because I love seeing the pictures with the names. Its so nice to have a visual reference; and seeing images of the actual people made them more real and gave me a sense of their personalities.
