Informative and empoweringBy Clare FairviewFarming Cuba provides a thoroughly enjoyable and eye-opening discussion of dispersed urban farming; a highly pertinent topic for anyone interested in the local food movement. The book provides an in-depth and clear understanding of the mechanisms that have made Cuba a model for local food production; while also discussing (sometimes drastically contrasting) practices in the U.S. I learned so much from the book and Irsquo;m planning to assign chapters to my students.1 of 2 people found the following review helpful. I was initially very pleased to see this topic coveredBy Florence NishidaI was initially very pleased to see this topic covered; and the first chapters were informative. But I was a little disappointed that the second part of the book did not provide additional details or new information; but rather were repetitive and general in coverage of a fascinating topic.2 of 3 people found the following review helpful. Good Job!By JoyceAnother very good example and explanation of repurposing materials that are available to create urban areas for food production and sustainability.
