At the end of the Great War; to protect his village from the Spanish flu epidemic; a priest commissions an Italian painter to decorate the local church with a fresco dedicated to the Virgin Mary. The painter is to choose; among four local women all named Mary; a model for his work. Superstition collides with desire; and lies are unmasked.

Great BookBy KimbiesI love this book and use it with my adult students and have successfully used it with 2 high school students who took up piano again after taking lessons as young children. The songs are well arranged and pleasant to play and listen to. I wish Wendy Stevens had written a Book 2 because all of my students using this book have expressed a desire to continue with her arrangements.0 of 0 people found the following review helpful. The songs are pretty stripped downBy CustomerThis book breaks down the things that you have forgotten. I found that my muscle memory could take me through scales; but I had forgotten the theory. It walks you through the theory and then it is applied. The songs are pretty stripped down; nothing elaborate; but they are recognizable and keep you going!1 of 1 people found the following review helpful. and Im very happy with Wendys arrangements and tips for the adult student ...By blmccartIm currently using this book with an adult student; and Im very happy with Wendys arrangements and tips for the adult student who has some piano background. My student has really enjoyed the selection of pieces from this book; and it seems as though they are at a great level for her.
