Studienarbeit aus dem Jahr 2010 im Fachbereich Theaterwissenschaft; Tanz; Note: 1+; Ludwig-Maximilians-Universitauml;t Muuml;nchen; Sprache: Deutsch; Abstract: Nachdem ich mich etwas mit dem Film Romance XXX von Catherine Breillat beschauml;ftigt habe; war es mir schier unmouml;glich den Film wirklich einzuordnen. Weder handelte es sich um Pornographie; noch um einen Spielfilm im klassischen Sinne. Auch hatte ich das Gefuuml;hl; dass der Film im weitesten Sinne politisch oder feministisch motiviert ist; gerade was die sexuellen Unterschiede zwischen den konstruierten Geschlechtern angeht; ohne das ich dieses weiter begruuml;nden konnte.Der Film stellt nicht bloszlig; klischeebehaftete weibliche Kouml;rper zur Schau - langbeinig; blond und groszlig;busig - Marie; die Hauptfigur; ist keineswegs eine dieser Frauen. Der Blick den Breillat auf den weiblichen Kouml;rper hat ist weniger fetischisierend und daher radikal. Der Film bemuuml;ht sich aber auch nicht ernsthaft; das Vorurteil der sexhungrigen; identitauml;tslosen Frau zu vernichten und ist demnach auch kein blosser feministischer Film.In dieser Hausarbeit mouml;chte ich daher versuchen durch dies beiden Vermutungen; der Film sei einerseits Pornographie und andererseits aber auch ein feministischer Film; einen Zugang zu Romance XXX zu bekommen und auch die Frage klauml;ren inwiefern Romance XXX die Themen Pornographie und Feminismus aufgreift und behandelt. Unter anderem mouml;chte ich aufzeigen wieso dieser Film fuuml;r so viel Aufsehen und Empouml;rung gesorgt hat und mich daher mit der bdquo;Sexualisierung" der Medien in Deutschland in den vergangenen Jahrzehnten befassen.Ich werde auszlig;erdem auf die feministische Pornokritik von Andrea Dworkin eingehen und die andersartigkeit von Romance XXX zu verdeutlichen. Breillat trifft nauml;mlich keineswegs einen unter Feministinnen akzeptierten Ton; sie beschreitet einen ganz eigenen Weg um die Emanzipation der Frau zu zeigen.Beginnen mouml;chte ich allerdings zunauml;chst mit einem kleinen Diskurs zur Sexualisierung des Films und der Medien. FunkNot by any means an introduction to the field of visual studies; however it is true to its title in that it indeed is skeptical. If you do not have a previous knowledge of visual studies; this book will not provide much clarification. The text comes across as a curriculum guide for educators. Elkins is proficient at pointing out the flaws of the discipline; and Id agree that it is "too easy." Elkins provides many great examples of images from science to dogtags that could be de-coded under the rubric of visual studies. However; after providing these examples; he does not actually go through any interpretative process. Perhaps he is leaving this task for the reader to do..? Knowing how intelligent Elkins is; I would have loved to read his interpretations of the examples he provides. Elkins also provides a good precis of the canonical literature. This is not a ground-breaking book; but if you are involved in any way with this field of knowledge; Id definately suggest it. Otherwise; seek elsewhere for a more thorough introduction.22 of 38 people found the following review helpful. several pointsBy ponylegsI was initially interested in the newly emerging field of visual studies; however after reading several of elkins other books as well as taking a course taught by the author; I have lost what interest I had. This book follows similar themes as his others and while it does a fantastic job of presenting problems within the field; it does not present any feasible alternatives.Concerning the images included; it is problematic that elkins does not then interpret at least some of the images. However; I do not believe that elkins is leaving this task for the reader to do. Having listened to his lectures I believe that elkins includes the images simply because they strike him in some way or another; not because they have any relevance to the field in question. This lack of relevance seems to pervade the majority of his literature and indeed the field as a whole.
