Elizabeth Streb has been testing the potential of the human body since childhood. Can she fly? Can she run up walls? Can she break through glass? How fast can she go? With clarity and humormdash;and with a world-class dance troupe called STREBmdash;she continues to investigate what real movement is and has come to these conclusions: Its off the ground! It creates impact! It hurts trying to stop it! In this pathbreaking book; Streb combines memoir and analysis to convey how she became an extreme action dancer/choreographer; developing a form of movement thats more NASCAR than modern dance; more boxing than ballet.Called the Evel Knievel of dance; Elizabeth Streb intertwines the disciplines of dance; athletics; rodeo; the circus; and Hollywood stunt-work. She founded STREB in 1985; which performs internationally in theaters; museums; and town squares. She established S.L.A.M. (STREB Lab for Action Mechanics) in 2003; a factory space in Williamsburg; Brooklyn; which produces a cottage industry of extreme action performances and invites everyday people to wonder about movement; gravity; and flight.

The Kindle version is useless. This is music notation; you need to be able to read it... so how about allowing some zoom/scaling options in Kindle to where it doesnt squeeze a full page in a single view? Total waste of money; wish I never bought the stupid Kindle version.1 of 1 people found the following review helpful. Kindle Version sucksBy TRIDSTHIS IS SPECIFIC TO THE DIGITAL KINDLE VERSION. Its worthless to buy it on kindle because the app sucks on my galaxy note and iPhone. The real kindle its ok. The actual book totally rules. Its super accurate and has Bump and Grind which was the main reason for me buying it. If you want to learn these songs then buy this book; but just dont do it digitally.0 of 0 people found the following review helpful. Accurate transcriptions of one of rocks greatest albumsBy William T. BarnesI primarily bought this book to learn "Ladies Night In Buffalo" and "Bump and Grind" but its awesome to have transcriptions of "Shy Boy"; "Tobacco Road"; etc. It would have been nice to have some images interspersed throughout or some gear suggestions; but its also good that this book is "all business"!This book contains very accurate transcriptions of some of Steve Vais best performances and David Lee Roths greatest songs!
