This book addresses issues of space; historicity; architecture and textuality by focusing on Singapores singular position in the region and as a global city. The articles consider how various experiences of Singapore; both from within and from outside; help to complicate existing assumptions about global urbanism; postcolonialism; and architectural theory while producing challenging new ideas from a variety of disciplines concerned with how space; historicity; architecture and textuality inform one another.

I should have read it on the IPad; but the very fact that I have to keep going to the back to look at the images; is a pain.Without images; and with a style of writing that is now obviously hard to follow; it becomes a difficult book to read. there is some wonderful material in the book; but the chore of closing my eyes and constantly visualising stuff is too much of a pain.4 of 4 people found the following review helpful. First comes TheoryBy A. ClyburnThis is a great book; and though the format wasnt as I expected at the beginning - the information was priceless. Definitely a plus and a recommended read.0 of 0 people found the following review helpful. Four StarsBy Hanneke HollanderVery interesting
