Brown County Mornings

ePub Brown County Mornings by Gary Moore in Arts-Photography

Description

The Art of Teaching Music takes up important aspects of the art of music teaching ranging from organization to serving as conductor to dealing with the disconnect between the ideal of university teaching and the reality in the classroom. Writing for both established teachers and instructors on the rise; Estelle R. Jorgensen opens a conversation about the life and work of the music teacher. The author regards music teaching as interrelated with the rest of lived life; and her themes encompass pedagogical skills as well as matters of character; disposition; value; personality; and musicality. She reflects on musicianship and practical aspects of teaching while drawing on a broad base of theory; research; and personal experience. Although grounded in the practical realities of music teaching; Jorgensen urges music teachers to think and act artfully; imaginatively; hopefully; and courageously toward creating a better world.

Not a book about Original Pronunciation or OP.By CustomerIf you are looking for a book that will tell you how 16-17th century actors and Shakespeare himself pronounced the words of his plays; this book is not for you. Unfortunately; I thought that this book was about the Original Pronunciation; or OP; and was somewhat disappointed. But as I bought it used and didnt pay very much; I am not too disappointed. I gave it 3 stars; but if I was someone who wanted to learn how to pronounce Shakespeare in a modern English play; I probably would have given it 5 stars.0 of 0 people found the following review helpful. It is an excellent resource for studentsBy Russ McClayJust purchased the digital (Kindle) version of this book. It is an excellent resource for students; teachers and actors who want to know what is the most widely accepted pronunciation of words found in Shakespeares work. There appear to be two versions of the Kindle edition. One is around 360 pages and the other 724 pages. Both the same price. Confusing. The content is very complex with regard to typesetting but it holds up well in the digital formatting. My only complaint is that the left margin Table of Contents cuts off the first letter of each item (see attached image). This is a relatively expensive eBook so that is a bit disappointing.0 of 0 people found the following review helpful.
