A great treasure for a budding organist!By Jones PetersonAt first I wasnt sure how this book is going to be despite the reviews; but to my surprise this book is now one of my best-loved organ music collections :)The chorale arrangements here are indeed a great introduction to many of Bachs chorale settings. I enjoy playing every single piece. As an organist; 79 chorales can help me build my repertoire for nearly 2 years of church service given that I would be choosing at least one or two chorales to be played per month. Marcel Dupreacute;; well known for his organ method published in French (A.Leduc ed) in 1927 meets here an application in the Seventy-Nine Chorales op 28. With progressive difficulties; it has the advantage to secure the student with explicit fingering and a recall of execution principles previously exposed by the author in his method of organ playing; as few other methods do on how to play Bach. Details of execution are in English; and French.Church organists may find in this method a pleasant way for brilliant execution of serious organ music; and will get the performer to a new point of excellence facing the audience. Some of these Chorales inspired by J.S. Bach are pure beauties. The only "bug" in this book is the inappropriate binding when open on organ or piano desk.
