Mill Hill concerns a dentist; his wife and a friend who likes to dress up as Sir Walter Raleigh for the purpose of making love. In Bermondsey; the well-adjusted life of a London publican; his wife and the man who loves him is disturbed by the presence of a young girl at Christmas time.Marble Arch is the story of an ageing film atar who believes that her rich lover has died in her bathroom; and its up to her to dispose of the body.Knightsbridge deals with the misunderstandings and confusions that arise when the mother of a gril about to be married puts up a number of dunious advertisements in and around Knightsbridge. In Edwin; young Edwin - whom we never see - is coming from Canada to meet the family; but is he the son of a retired judge who cant stop trying things; or of a free-living; opera-whistling potter? Views on this question change radically during the course of the play.

Because I do not live in USA; they were re-mailed to me to Romania. I just got them Friday. Actually I am translating this particular one into Romanian. I am up to chapter 3 "The Landscape of Plaesure". My opinion so far? Very interesting views on art and art history; exceptioanally interesting explanations of cause-effect ; nicely narrated ( sophisticated yet comprehensible) ; not to mention the quality of printing and of reproductions. One regret; I spent my yoouth in a communist country! Thank you all for this book!0 of 0 people found the following review helpful. I love the way Robert Hughes wroteBy LizushI love the way Robert Hughes wrote. I come back to this book time and time again; and often give it as a reference (in tandem with the BBC series version) to my young architecture students.0 of 0 people found the following review helpful. Great writing style; interesting read.By PolyjubjubThis book is a very interesting read. I have to use this as a textbook for a class; but it does not read as a typical textbook. It is very easy to understand for the average reader; and a great resource for anyone wanting to know more about modern art. I highly recommend it.
