I recommend getting this if youd like to see a snapshot of students abilities at this time. These figure drawings represent their best work; from various institutions all around these United States.Bridgman is just an editor here; to see his excellent figure drawing books proper; check out: the Book of a Hundred Hands-1920; Constructive Anatomy-1920; Life Drawing-1924; Heads; Features and Faces-1932; Drawing the Female Form-1935; the Human Machine-1939; and Drawing the Draped Figure-1942.In 1952; nearly a decade after Bridgman passed away in 43; editor Howard Simon assembled what we now call Bridgmans Complete Guide to Drawing from Life. This is intended to be the best bits pieces from his seven books I just mentioned; although I cant really find anything from Drawing the Female Form within its pages. I do recommend getting this Complete Guide.Besides these eight art instruction books; Bridgman serves as editor for this 100 Figure Drawings-1935; and the previously released 50 Figure Drawings-1927. While 100 Figure Drawings is a bigger I think more attractive looking book design; I think I actually prefer the drawing ability displayed inside the earlier 50 Figure Drawings(!).In any case; I really only recommend these amateur art compilations for people who have an active curiosity here. If people are looking for books Bridgman *actually* drew; then stick to the eight titles mentioned above.6 of 6 people found the following review helpful. One Hundred Figure DrawingsBy Simone SimonianThis book looks more promising than it is. Do not be fooled by the cover; the drawings inside are not good enough to by the book.
