Have you ever wondered if you need to use a flash in sunlight? What the best lighting is for a macro shot? How long your exposure should be in low lighting? If you have; this book is for you! Lighting affects composition; focus; exposure decisions; and pretty much everything about taking a picture. Further; the mood of the photograph is totally dependent on the lighting - and can make or break the image. It is also one of the hardest things for a budding photographer to grasp. The existing lighting books tend to require expensive equipment and extensive knowledge on how to light photos. For those who arent at that level yet; this guide shows how to take shots in certain settings and times; such as lighting for specific seasons; back-lighting; water lighting; available light at mid-day; and more. Loaded with photos; tips; tricks; and inspiration; you cant help but walk away from this book with the critical knowledge you need to know to take the perfect picture.

Even on riffs that should be very easy to transcribe; such as the opening bass synth line to Head Like a Hole; they couldnt get it right. Notes are left out of parts of every song in this book. They dont even bother to list the BPM on the songs. Its also misleading to label the book as Piano; Vocal; Guitar; which would cause most people to think theres guitar tablature inside. There is not. Just highly inaccurate sheet music. Unlike most songbooks; you wont even find a single credit inside of whos responsible for these terrible transcriptions.2 of 2 people found the following review helpful. Pretty Hate Machine Piano BookBy heatherThis is not an official NIN release; it was arranged through a third party. I really enjoy the music and feel its well arranged; but without direction from Reznor himself I feel some of the tracks off the album dont translate well to sheet music; i.e. Down In It. Its fun and an ideal purchase for any musically inclined NIN fan.2 of 3 people found the following review helpful. Pretty good; says a Non-MusicianBy Kryscaron;tof VeÄerekGood day to you; fellow NIN fanaticsThere are three 3 things I need to make clear. It helps me fall asleep.Firstly; I am not a professional musician or in any significant way musically educated.Secondly; I am not a native speaker; so if any of the sentences used in my pseudo-review remind you of the voice in The Wretched at 3:56; feel free to contact me. (Feel absolutely free to contact me for ANY other reason as well; I am a very pro-alternative-marketing man if you know what I mean (Is there any such person?)).Thirdly; I have bought this book like a month ago; yet I only got to writing this text now. I do feel a little bad. Now; about the book itself! There is no introduction; no text or anything of that sort; its just the music alone (no idea why I was expecting anything else). Its written as a regular professional music sheet. So when my musically uneducated self opened it; I was a little suprised that I cant really read everything perfectly and immediately. But hey; what better motivation to learn these things is there? Well; maybe except for the music sheet for The Fragile (DEAR GOD IN HEAVENS PLEASE).The music notation seems to be precise/accurate (what adjective do you use here?); without any imperfections or anything like that. However; and this is my only problem; there are rare (as in A SINGLE ONE found) cases of some sounds and instruments missing. And I am not talking about some missing tiny scratches or guitar slides. To be specific; I couldnt find the main synth melody from Terrible Lie (the one that starts in the first chorus) and at first I also couldnt find the synth melody from Sins first chorus. However; I have randomly found it (Sin synth) in a later section of the music sheet. So it IS possible that everything actually is where it should be and I just dont know how to read it properly. All in all; youll get everything you could ask for (with a possible slip-up or two). The best thing about this book though is that there might something similar for when the The Fragile reissue comes out :-)
