Wonderful history lessonBy Dutch GirlAs a long-time member of the Museum of Fine Arts (MFA) Boston; I have longed for a book about its early beginnings and history. This book is perfect in fulfilling that desire. I also liked that it allowed me to gain a deeper understanding of the Boston Athenaeum; its beginnings; and its role in the cultural life of Bostons citizens. In fact; it begat a first-class museum that enhances the lives of people in the U.S. and the world. The author has a wonderful style; somewhat anecdotal; which is exactly what I enjoy since it keeps the book from being too dry. My greatest acolade is that the book left me wanting more.
