This book contains the invited contributions to the 1993 Henderson Colloquium organised by the British Group of IABSE (International Association for Bridge and Structural Engineering). It provides an international review of new techniques of designing and constructing joint-free bridges - an approach which is rapidly being developed and used in many parts of the world.

It is so exciting to seethat people used to have four bedrooms in that long-ago-time. It has made me think about how families being assigned to such small spaces (but oh so glad they had a room to themselves). Ill bet many Grandparents had to live with their children and Grandchildren back then too; because of the hard times they went through. You really have to be older to discern how things were back then in order to want to investigate them. Met my desires.1 of 1 people found the following review helpful. Thoroughly enjoyed this retrospective of smallBy CustomerThoroughly enjoyed this retrospective of small; quality brick homes from the 1930s. Great resource guide to anyone interested in domestic architecture from this period. Also enjoyed the original written commentary for each design---it really enhanced the reading experience for me.1 of 2 people found the following review helpful. Small BrickHouses of the TwentiesBy barbara gormanIt was very interesting and with a few modifications; can be built today. These buildings have much more character than many of the modern designs.
