A readable history of ChinaBy Midwest Book ReviewThis reprint of an original 1878 edition written by John Henry Gray and originally published by Macmillan provides a readable history of China dating from the late 19th century when author Gray served as the Archdeacon of Hong Kong. Gray charted the legends of China and provided insights into its government; society; belief systems and class system: add a first-person observational tone and you have a winner.
