It should be the bible of on camera actors. You will learn a lot of terminology; and get an understanding of what to expect when you are working in film or television. If your experience if primarily stage; and you are about to embark in a television or film role; you need to read this book. The author; Richard Brestoff is a working actor; who really knows what he is talking about. The best part of the book is a screenplay formatted section in which a newcomer ( literally) learns the ropes from a veteran.0 of 0 people found the following review helpful. Just okBy Meredith Patterson BrayleyThis is a great resource and should be read but I found some of the suggestions dated and not necessary0 of 0 people found the following review helpful. A Must Have for the Film Actors LibraryBy Oldie But GoodieThis book is a quick; easy read for the beginning film actor. The scenarios emulate life on a set covering aspects from craft services to camera shots. There is also a valuable glossary at the back of the book. As a beginning film actor; I highly recommend "The Camera Smart Actor." The information presented will help any beginning film actor feel at ease on the set.
