Fun/Great Learning Tool (with a couple of asterisks)By ESVKI really am enjoying learning these popular Leppard songs and I really like the backing tracks. However; I am subtracting one star for two reasons: 1) The author has merged multiple guitar parts into a single line instrument. Sometimes this is not that noticeable; however; on "Foolin"; the acoustic guitar in the beginning goes directly to the distorted rhythm guitar toward the end of the bars without any warning; which is kind of awkward. 2) There are more ways that one to skin a cat meaning that the fret positions and fingering is the authors interpretation - and there may be easier ways to play some of the parts (on other strings). So; I compare this book to tabs I find on the internet and revise if I find a fret position that is better suited for me. The accompanying Amazing Slowdowner software is a great way to slow down the tempo without changing the pitch. Also; you can change the pitch if you prefer to lower a half-step to Eb.1 of 1 people found the following review helpful. Worth every pennyBy JoeIncredible; Im a huge deff leppard fan and this is a great way to learn a few of their songs. The cd has 2 tracks for each song (one with guitar and one without) so you can hear how the song is supposed to go and makes learning the more challenging parts of a song much easier. The band playing is really good too! The book included can be read as sheet music or tabs and also has lyrics to help you follow along. No vocals on the cd though. I love it; and think its a great way to learn how to play some great music. Cant recommend this enough.4 of 4 people found the following review helpful. Its a play along; not a note for note transcriptionBy Dan5150As long as you are not looking for a full lesson/note for note transcription; then this is a great book/CD package. If you listen to the original songs; you will hear 2 or more guitar parts at the same time. This book (and the backing tracks) basically provide you with a single "merged" guitar part; plus a solo transcription. Playing that part against provided backing tracks basically equals the real song. Backing tracks dont provide vocals; though. Overall; a fun time and totally worth it to rock out to some Leppard tunes!
