Decent jewelry instructional bookBy Luv2danceIf you are interested in learning how to make some cool crafts but arent sure where the start; this book might be able to guide you. The book is actually really well put together and has some very; very interesting and quite intuitive ideas yet there is one thing missing: photos. Many of these projects wouldve been better understood with photos and for those that do have photos; I feel more shouldve been added to clarify and help expand your creative mindset. Nonetheless; this book does have some fun; new ideas that I have never seen before and found quite fun to do in my spare time. There is so much information out there; and everyone is trying to sell you something that you dont need. This book tells you exactly what you need and why; making the guess work not needed! It is well written; sounding like it has the sense of a conversation or going to a workshop.I especially love how there are thorough instructions on how to make various types of jewelry with photos to accompany them. Good beginner intro to the hobby with step-by-step projects.By cat loverReally good step-by-step project guide with excellent intro of tools; wire; clasps; beads etc - how they differ; what to be aware of when choosing; etc; where to buy (craft store; eBay...) -- this beginning part is especially good for a beginner to this hobby. Even if you dont take it up; its interesting and gives you appreciation for jewelry you might already have - how it was made; and why certain clasps or wire or silk etc were used....the only reason I didnt give it 5 stars is the pictures - in the beginning tools materials sections; the pictures are spot on and clear; but later on in the step by step it was a little confusing -- which picture went with which step and what the finished project looked like -- they might all be there; like I identified the picture of the winter white earrings -- but others may be missing or just not captioned or placed near the pertinent text.
