Lots of these songs have been published elsewhereBy Leib Gershon MitchellIm not sure if Hal Leonard is getting lazy (and reusing the same songs in book after book and hoping that no one notices); or if these songs really are so great that it pays to use them over and over. The Stevie Wonder transcriptions that I already have in other Hal Leonard books are:1. Boogie On Reggae Woman; 2. Higher Ground; 3. I Wish; 4. Ribbon in the Sky; 5. Send One Your Love; 6. Superstition. All of those songs are in "RB Hits" (ISBN-10: 0634054112). I believe that Ribbon in the Sky is also in "Acoustic Piano Ballads" (ISBN-10: 0634090461); so that makes for three copies of one song. Some good Stevie songs that might have been good to put in this book (and that hadnt already been printed in 3 or 4 other publications) might have been: 1. Never Dreamed Youd Leave in Summer (surely very popular after he sang it at Michael Jacksons funeral); 2. Creepin; 3. Hes Misstra Know It All; 4. Golden Lady; 5. As.Or; it could have been any other songs from Wonders vast catalog of quality work. At the risk of repeating this too many times: There was no reason to use songs that had been published already three or four times. The book could have been much better with more novel transcriptions. On the good side: The book did do a great job of transcribing the songs that they chose; and I can appreciate what a monumental undertaking that was. (All the pieces have really complicated arrangements-- 4 staves in most cases-- and are written in really silly keys (Ebm/ Db) with multiple modulations.)2 of 2 people found the following review helpful. A must buy!!!By Customerif youre looking for Stevie Wonders transcriptions as he played them this is the book to have; you wont be disappointed. If this could be done for other artists this would be great insight into their talents.
