I had not played for many years; and recently started playing again.I needed some music to get me going again and to expand my repertoire; and this book is just what I was looking for. Most of the songs are one to a page. The chord diagrams are shown at the top of the page; and just the names of the chords are shown above each measure. This is fairly common for the guitar music with which I am familiar. Only the melody is shown; and only the treble clef is shown; which is all most guitarists need. If you can play the major; minor and major seventh chords in the first position; you will be able to play the majority of the songs in this book. Suggested strum and picking patterns are also given for each song; in case you need a starting place.1 of 1 people found the following review helpful. Great beginner book!By ChucksTravelsI am trying to teach myself how to read music and play guitar at the same time. This book is perfect for a newbie like myself. It is just challenging enough but not so difficult that I want to stop trying.0 of 0 people found the following review helpful. Every song I was looking forBy Denise GreeneSo fun. I couldnt think of a folk song from my childhood (in the 60s) that wasnt there. I first picked up a guitar in 1966; and this book was like a combination of my first two folk books and more besides.
