Anything musical by this author you can get your hands on; is well worth your while. Im not saying hes a one-man conservatory. Who is? But; the simile certainly comes to mind. Ive enjoyed about a half dozen of his publications; to date. This is one of the top three; for me. His Lyrics writing book is up there; too. And; his chord book of some 200 Beatle songs (virtually their entire collection) is excellent. Hes superbly knowledgeable. But that is not enough to make a great teacher; which he certainly is. He also possesses the rare talent of organizing and simplifying the morass of information thrown at students; into logic and simplicity. He is able to distill whats essential; and present it in an eminently readable and digestible way. Which publications of his should be emphasized by you; depends upon your particular needs; mission; and goals. So; it is for you to select. But; anything this teacher has presented is definitely; well worth your inspection and consideration. His hundreds; if not thousands of examples; of music you easily encounter anytime you turn on the radio; is most impressive. Its his analysis; you see; and; its conciseness; that are some of the valuable aspects. From whats already been a part of your life since "forever"; he transports you to a significantly more profound sense of understanding. And; this is both on an intellectual and practical level. Musicians cant help but appreciate his offerings. The C.D.s included with many of the publications afford you a further level of quickly becoming cognizant of what exactly is meant by "riff"; or "altered tuning" flavor of sound; to cite a couple of examples.1 of 2 people found the following review helpful.
