I am a long time lover of all things French and have quite possibly read every book out there on this subject but this was the first book that didnt leave me feeling like an uncivilized oaf! Most books written on this subject are usually very preachy but Helena writes on this subject in a girls girl kind of way that gives me hope for changing my oafish ways:) She gives an honest (good bad and ugly) look in to the lives of actual French women. What I actually liked about it was that she showed that French women are not so perfect as other books on this topic tried to convince us. It covers topics such as style; exercises; cosmetics; love; work; children; diets. I found it cute and funny; but if you like more serious books; its not for you. I give it four stars; because I think that it is very negative towards French women at some points and that she presented only women belonging to elite.
