Starts with the basics of thumb and index finger playing with simple rhythms; and adds fingers and complexities as the book progresses. The songs included are stripped down versions of the originals; but provide enough of a skeleton for a dedicated student to learn the originals by ear after getting the core of the song from this book. Speaking of songs; there is a good sampling of a wide variety of players throughout the book; with some key tracks from the two primary bluesmen focused on: Mance Lipscomb and Mississippi John Hurt. Good Book but Wrong TitleBy DrThis book is a good introduction to blues playing but has the wrong title - almost all of the pieces are for guitar accompaniment to singing; not instrumental pieces. There is only one instrumental piece included. Just change the name to Masters of Blues Guitar Accompaniment and everything is fine.
