It is full of breathtaking photos and a wide range of interesting and diverse facts and information. My kids are ages 4 and 7 so some of the information was a little over their heads but nonetheless it was fun to learn all these different things about China. This book is probably directed at kids maybe 8 and up but even younger kids like mine were able to learn some pretty neat things. The first thing I noticed is the amazing high quality photography that went into this book. These images are absolutely stunning! There are a wide variety of pictures. It shows some beautiful landscapes; cities; countrysides; famous landmarks and traditional Chinese architecture. It has pictures of animals native to china. But what really captured my attention and impressed me the most about the photographs were the stunning portraits of the native people from that country. These beautiful portraits range from people in native and ceremonial costumes to just candid pictures of people going about the daily activities of their life. It also shows some famous landmarks and even archeology. This book has a wide variety of facts and information included. It talks about the demographics such as the population; the government; the size and topography of the country and all the different climates and landscapes; climates; etc. It goes into the history of china and the different political systems they have had over history. It talks about martial arts and chinas military. Mandarin is the primary language used and taught in China and did you know that it is the most widely spoken language in the world? It explains the different religions prevalent and most practiced in that country and also ancient beliefs that were known in this country. It talks a little about different ethnic groups. It was interesting to learn of the inventions that originated there such as paper; gunpowder; printing and the compass. Did you know that ping-pong is the most popular sport in china? It also was fun to learn a little about native animals and such. We enjoyed everything about this book but by far the pictures were our favorite part of this book. I would definitely recommend this book for kids who like to learn about different countries and cultures. I received this book at a discount in return for giving and honest; unbiased review. I did not notice any "fun" facts. Perhaps this means somethingdifferent to the author. The pictures are nice; but none are labeled. The panda; Great Wall; and terracotta soldiersare the only things I recognize due to no labels on the photos. I feel this is a really bad omission because itwould be nice to know the names of what the pictures are of. I am not sure all the facts are correct. I know thatas usual the book needs some editing and organization. My kids liked the pictures but wanted to know what theplaces were. It is good to let children learn about other cultures and people who live in other places. I hope thatby exposing my children to people and religions other than their own will make them better people and moretolerant of others. A good enough book for people to learn some facts about China. I learned nothing new exceptthe approximate number of Chinese people at the present time. I think the title is somewhat misleading. Therewere no "fun" facts listed; just facts like any other book would have.1 of 1 people found the following review helpful. Pretty good quality. Fun to look through.By TMThis e book had some great pictures from China. The pages with the facts are interesting. Overall it is a fair quality e book. Here is just a quick explanation about what eBooks are; " From Wikipedia; the free encyclopedia; As a generic term; an electronic book (variously: e-book; eBook; e-Book; ebook; digital book or e-edition) or a digital book[1] is abook-publication in digital form; consisting of text; images; or both; readable on computers or other electronic devices.[2] Although sometimes defined as "an electronic version of a printed book";[3] many e-books exist without any printed equivalent. Commercially produced and sold e-books are usually intended to be read on dedicated e-readers. However; almost any sophisticated electronic device that features a controllable viewing screen; including computers; tablets and smartphones can also be used to read e-books. Nowadays; both print as well as e-book selling is moving to the web. For instance; in the United States of America more "books are published online than distributed in hard copy in book shops". The main reasons that people are buying books online are prices; comfort and selection process. Notwithstanding that most people appreciate higher regular "bricks mortar" bookshops; "yet almost every single one of us is buying books online".[4] Based on this information it is almost certain that the e-publishing will soon overtake traditional publishing."I received this product at a discounted rate in exchange for a honest review of the product.
