A unique and revolutionary text which explains the principles behind the LT Method (2.1); a manual design tool developed in Cambridge by the BRE. The LT Method is a unique way of estimating the combined energy usage of lighting; heating; cooling and ventilation systems; to enable the designer to make comparisons between options at an early; strategic stage. In addition;Energy and Environment in Architecture the book deals with other environmental issues such as noise; thermal comfort and natural ventilation design. A variety of case studies provide a critique of real buildings and highlight good practice. These topics include thermal comfort; noise and natural ventilation.

He asked for this book for his birthday and he loves it. Hes been tearing through it! Already Ive heard three different rags being played in the house in the last couple of days; "The Entertainer"; "Magnetic Rag"; and "Swipesy". I find ragtime music entertaining to listen to; but fascinating to watch being played. The hand movement looks like it would be difficult to play. My son reports that although it takes a little getting used to; it is fun to play once you get it. If I am being objective; I would classify him as an intermediate piano player with some real talent. Hes been playing for about four years.About the book itself. It looks great; with a classy old-style look. Its quality made. Its heavy enough that it stays open on the piano with a simple clothes pin. And its large enough to read. My son wanted actual Scott Joplin music; not arrangements; and from what I can tell; these are the real deal.3 of 3 people found the following review helpful. There is a commonly perceived haunting element to Scott Joplins ...By JasonThere is a commonly perceived haunting element to Scott Joplins music-perhaps due to the century-old piano rolls we possess. In any case; this book doesnt stop short of capturing said sentiment. As with all of Dovers output; "Compete Piano Rags" boasts all the salient sections; along with some very clear printing. Whats more: the book opens with several ragtime warm-ups put together by the editors. There is no reason the ragtime scholar should ignore the item.0 of 0 people found the following review helpful.
