Lets compare and contrast this book with the Beatles Complete Chord Songbook. I was able to move from Justins Beginnerbook to the excellent Beatles Complete Chord Songbook and play it because the Beatles book included a very small chord diagram in front of every song. This meant that I could play every chord just by looking at the song.In contrast; Justin doesnt list the chord diagram with each song he assumes that you know and remember it. If you dont remember it (because its been a few months since you last used it) youll have to flip through the book to find the chord. Even if you flip through the book; theres a chance that youll have to consult the beginner songbook or his website to find the chord because its not in the acoustic songbook. One aspect that Justin did a better job of then the Beatles book and most guitar songbooks is that he includes strumming patterns on many of his songs. Another great thing Justin did is that he offers lots of opportunities to play melodies; riffs; and fingerstyle.Justin also does a better job of writing the songs for the guitar than a lot of other books. In many other songbooks there is a line for the rhythm guitar (the chords written above the tab or sheet music) and then the melody and riffs for the lead guitar. Justin writes his songs in a manner that allows you to mix the two without having to figure out the best way to integrate a song written for two guitars into one solo.2 of 2 people found the following review helpful. Excellent PurchaseBy DJI have purchased all the acoustic guitar song books from Justin Guitar. Used in conjunction with his free; on-line guitar lessons; this is an amazing resource. I recommend the Justin Guitar system very highly. It is better than all the guitar lesson websites that charge an annual membership fee. Some of the membership fees are quite high. Totally Guitars; for instance; is about $400 for a year. Thats a lot of money! Jamplay and Guitar Tricks have more reasonable membership fees; but none of them have song books that go along with the lessons. That is what really sets Justin Guitar apart. Whether youre just starting to learn guitar; or have been playing for years and just want to improve; you cant go wrong with giving Justin Guitar a try. Good luck!1 of 1 people found the following review helpful. Simply; the BEST!By MichelleThe best! I use Justins books with the online video classes (payment voluntary). I am a new guitar player with limited time to spare for private classes so I feel so fortunate to have found theses lessons. The books are broken down by level; Justin has picked a variety of songs for that stage of learning. The lyrics are shown with the chords and he also give the strumming pattern.
