Reinvigorate Your Style With Great Fashion Formulas Photo Illustrations - Trendy; Classic and Creative!By ZeldaMcLet Refinery29 reinvigorate your style! This energetic style guide is jam-packed with hundreds of ideas and colorful illustrative photos of fashion savvy everyday women on the streets of New York City metro area. Also; has shots focused on style details; like shoes and accessories. Its organized by style themes; such as "Denim"; "Mixed Prints"; "Tomboy"; "Lady-Like" and then for each presents the same formula for putting different looks together; in order: Basic Training; Style Moves; 1 Piece-3 Ways; Rule Breakers; Year-Round; QA and Zoom Lens. While most of the looks are pretty youthful; this guide has style ideas women of every age can learn from. I am a middle-aged woman; flat-heeled and suffering from style menopause. However; the advantage of having clothes-shopped for decades; is possessing a hoard of rarely worn clothes and dusty accessories; even things now vintage. I post-noted many pages of Style Stalking and walked this book into my closet and to my drawers to help me shake up my wardrobe. Youd be amazed how many looks can be created from what one already owns! The book compels one to try new things. I have had a life long aversion to prints. The theme on "Mixed Prints" has really given me courage to zip up my style by adding bold print pieces and even mixing them up! Finally; I was wowed by the layout and page design of this book - its clean; simple; and easy to follow with photos on practically every page; artfully mixed with text boxes and captions highlighting their pointers. Ill be stalkng Refinery29 - they should issue a guide like this every year! Grateful!17 of 18 people found the following review helpful. Recommended for women and girls who like to look cool!By North Country GirlExcellent book for creative dressing! I was not sure it was appropriate for a woman my age (65); but the more I got into it; the more I realized how much I could learn from the book; and still dress "age appropriate". Having said that; the authors do seem to want to release us from past notions about fashion! I also appreciated the fact the women in the photos were of all shapes and sizes; not just model types. All in all; I would definitely recommend this useful (and fun book)! One thing though..... I am sure I will never get used to the idea of mixing prints...... Not for me; but you might love it.6 of 6 people found the following review helpful. Im tired of the cookie cutter fashion of the suburbs ...By TamiBIm tired of the cookie cutter fashion of the suburbs where all that matters is a designer label. This book brought me back to my city girl roots where I shopped thrift stores and had my own personal sense of style. This book challenges you to experiment with pattern; texture and stretch your fashion sense in unconventional ways. I was able to remix a lot of what was in my closet to bring new outfits to life!! I appreciate the diverse women represented-- all ages; shapes and colors. I hope they release another book.
