When he is at the top of his form; he can spin a first-class tale. This is a rather mixed bag of some of his early work. Some are reminiscent of early Asimov stories. I enjoyed "Life Hutch"; which is part of Ellisons action-oriented Earth-Kyba cycle; and "Soldier"; a clever anti-war tale. Also of note is the screenplay based on "Soldier"; which was adapted for The Outer Limits in 1964. Decades later; this episode inspired The Terminator movie franchise.4 of 4 people found the following review helpful. The ebook conversion of this book is of horryifyingly poor quality. I started with Life HutchBy DWDComment specific to the Kindle Edition: The ebook conversion of this book is of horryifyingly poor quality. I started with Life Hutch; one of my faviorites short stories; but couldnt even get through it story without running into multiple serious conversion errors: Misspellings; missing words; phrases and sentences; and incorrect formatting. The author would be very; very angry about this; and rightly so.0 of 0 people found the following review helpful.
