This is a great look at the history of FM radio in Cleveland; OH during a time when radio meant something. It is mind boggling to think of the artists that were introduced to America because WMMS played them first. The artists that continued throughout their careers to credit and thank WMMS for their support. What I enjoyed about this book was that it shared how Cleveland radio shaped what WMMS was doing and how WMMS shaped what other Cleveland radio stations were doing. This is not a history of WMMS for that book I would highly recommend reading The Buzzard: Inside the Glory Days of WMMS and Cleveland Rock Radio--a Memoir by John Gorman. I missed the heyday of Cleveland radio by a few years and vaguely remember the recall the end of WMMS dominance of Cleveland radio; but this book described in detail many of the stories Ive heard over the years about how radio use to be.I would recommend this book for anyone that is interested in 60s to 80s music; interested in radio history or generally interested in the history of Cleveland; OH. The radio of Cleveland influenced a lot of events that happened not only in Cleveland but around the country.0 of 0 people found the following review helpful. A great follow up to Gormans book on WMMSBy Jerry A. OrnIf you were there; a great way to relive the days of the best FM stations in the country. The initial chapters were difficult and i had to put the book down many times mainly trying to keep up with the details or over sdetailing of the DJ employment jumping. The book does get great though and was an enjoyable read overall.0 of 2 people found the following review helpful.
