Remarkably broad in scope; unlike many smaller collections which focus on a particular type of ironwork. The pieces are examples made by masters of filing; chiseling; chasing; forging; piercing; and engraving; with little cast work.Two small points; which do not detract from the book itself; are that the information given on the pieces is limited; and there is only one image per object. Smiths who want to recreate a particular item or type of item may have to look elsewhere for more detailed photos; but Decorative Antique Ironwork is the perfect starting point.
