Arthur Friedhelm was a very good pianist in his own rightBy James ClayArthur Friedhelm was a very good pianist in his own right. He was a student and subsequently a secretary of and for Franz Liszt. As such he had first-hand exposure to the great; and altruistic Liszt. He was not only a very good pianist; he was also a very good writer; and I believe I was brought closer to the real Liszt than i have been with any other writer on the subject of Franz Liszt...1 of 1 people found the following review helpful. Harcore terminologyBy D. KurzThis book is written in a non-fluid manner. It is mostly an autobiography;so I gather thats why; however; I LOVE learning everything about Liszt and the times he was on earth;but this is a slow read...often hard to comprehend; book. The guy was there;so he deserves all the leeway we may give him.Alan Walkers books on Liszt and Bulow ;as far as Enticing ; interesting; and fluid reading; are much better.I always remember WHO is writing...It helps the mindset when reading this type of book...
