I had many photographs that would have been appropriate had I known this book was in production. A great view of middle American from the 1930s forward. Now only a few can afford to live on those lovely streets from my former neighborhood--1940-1984. Some of the monstrosities that have been erected on those lovely lots of 75 X 150 are horrendous; hardly evocative of the past when simple structures served families so well.1 of 2 people found the following review helpful. Its interesting.By BCI appreciate the work put into this book but it is a pretty dry read. It seemed the authors only used 2-3 sources for pictures. I did enjoy reading how SSP began. It would have been nice to have had more elaboration. I grew up in SSP from 1970 to 1987 and still keep in touch with many of my friends. My parents bought the house for $15 K. It was a cute bungalow which is no longer there. It would have been nice to know more of the homeowners.
