Why botherBy Just For MeI have been a small studio owner for over 15 years and am well versed in most aspects of DAW(Digital Audio Workstation) usage and setup. I odered this book for the simple reason that Studio One 2 is a very new DAW with alot of very interesting features. I have read the book twice now and the main point that sticks in my mind is how many times the second volume is mentioned. WHAT A BUNCH OF (insert your word of choice here)!!!! This should have been mentioned up front that this first volume was mainly a target for beginners to the world of digital recording. In that context it is an excelent book. There are also some sections that I found useful but I really need to know the information in volume 2(mixing options; mastering; automation; et.....). To read in the chapters that I thought would contain at least a bit of some of this was frustrating in that all it would say was to reference volume 2 chapter so and so for more on that topic. ARGHHH!!!!I checked on the release date of volume 2 and the latest info tells me that it will be availible in May of 2013!!! By that time im sure there will be many updates and possibly a new version of Studio One 2.Bottom line is that if you have a copy of Studio One 2 and are new to the world of DAW recording then buy this book. It will give you a great start in how to use this very powerful piece of software. If you are like me; with a few thousand hours under your belt of recording both analog and digital media; then dont expect too much advanced info on the program.0 of 0 people found the following review helpful. Useful; but with errors and omissionsBy Martin FoutsI found this book useful when it was accurate; but often inaccurate. This is because the book was prepared while Studio One 2 was still in development; As a result; the step by step explanations sometimes dont match the way the final version of the application actually runs. It is unfortunate that this is not mentioned in the book blurb or that there isnt a web site with corrections -- or a second edition of the book with the corrections. The book is intended for someone who is new to DAWs and who may not have any previous experience with music production. It seems to fill that niche well.It is unfortunate that material that would have been useful in this book has been deferred to the 2nd book in the series.5 of 5 people found the following review helpful. Only volume one!By Test4EchoIve been waiting long to get this book shipped over to Europe; but now Im a bit disappointed that the topics my main focus lies on will be addressed in volume two.The book overall is OK; but most of the stuff in vol. 1 is not _that_new to me; so I might have a look at it if there is something _really_ new in there.
