Craig Pearson and Judith Nasby discuss the evolution of how we think about agriculture; its use of the land and impact on landscape; and how landscape has been portrayed historically in art. They also offer a wider discussion on the role that science and economics have played in agricultural development and the parallels to changes in art form.

Rating this book; centuries after it has been written; is obtuse. This book is all about the translation. Its even more simplified than... any other I have seen. I used it in my classroom in the beginning of the year; to introduce kids to Greek Theatre. The oral CD reading of it is very dramatic... but this translation is so simple and weak. Its difficult to swallow if you are over the age of 16.
