The Modern Monologue in two volumes; one for men and one for women; is an exciting selection of speeches drawn from the landmark plays of the 20th century. The great playwrights of the British; American and European theatre-- and the plays most constantly performed on stage throughout the world--are represented in this unique collection. Monologues of all types--both serious and comic; realistic and absurdist--provide a dynamic challenge for all actors: the student; the amateur and the professional. A fuller appreciation of each speech is enhanced by the editors introduction and commentaries that set the plays and individual speeches in their dramatic and performance contexts.

A list of titles; nothing moreBy Alexander NekrasovSince its about anime I expected either pictures or good information. Its neither - its just a dry list of titles with story lines. I guess you could call it an encyclopedia; but its useless unless you have some very specific question - and then youll probably find it on the Internet quicker. I failed to see the point of this book1 of 3 people found the following review helpful. informative but dull visualsBy Riley KnightWhile I was a little disappointed about the lack of pictures; like DVD cover art or some other kind of visual representation of the anime in question; it is definitely very fun to flip through and realize just how much anime is out there.
