Not for "vegans".By Frank BeeckmanThe author:I discussed this very talented author in depth in a review of the book "Boogie Woogie For Little Fingers"; which is the pre-beginners Boogie Woogie book; and which is easier to study than "Boogie Woogie for Beginners". In that review I also discussed the authors other Boogie Woogie books. The book:In 48 pages; youll learn:- The Boogie Woogie style: lift; color; effect; chord patterns typical chorus.- Touch: method and articulation.- The left hand: bass figures (single note; walking/chord bass); 25 bass patterns.- The right hand: rhythm; dynamics; effects (crush notes; decorations; exercises)- Both hands exercises.- Musical terms: expressions of loudness/softness; speed and style.- Solos: "Answer to the Prayer" (by Meade "Lux" Lewis; Margaret Coleman and Bishop Edsel Ammons); and "Down the Road a Piece" (by Don Raye).Verdict:See/hear him at frankpaparelli dot com. This man is an unrecognized jazz legend. I like this book. Anyone that thinks this book is too hard should look at my other Boogie Woogie book reviews to find simpler choices. The problem with simpler books is that they lack meat. Meatless books are perfect for "vegans"; or those that want brain food thats super easy to digest. Thats why I recommend both books. :-)0 of 0 people found the following review helpful.
