Much like just about every popular piano book; this is a transcriptionists interpretation of Sarahs music. Where it fails; in my opinion; is in adding stuff that isnt truly there; regardless of which instrument is playing the original part. It attempts to overlay non-existent vocal melodies with the actual piano parts; it made me frown especially on Adia. Yes; I agree that the interpretation is pretty sounding. However; why bother changing the beautiful melodic and true harmonic content of the original pieces? I was excited to get this book but once again; this is yet another piano book that does no justice to the actual played parts. I have to often listen to the original music because Im frowning as I am playing what it is written....I am like..."What? I dont remember hearing that in the album." Then of course I go to check and can confirm that what is sometimes played isnt truly there in the originally recorded music.The one benefit I got out of this book is that; at the very least; you get a harmonic road map that makes it easier to pickup the actual playing intricacies by ear.0 of 0 people found the following review helpful. This music is slightly challenging - enough to make it interesting- yet simple enough that I can play it with practice and it really sounds like her songs.
