Could serve as a building-block for a history of nudism in Germany.By SenecaBased on original sources not often used before; this volume focuses on Germany in the 1950s when nudism often served as a cover for "soft" pornography. It would have been more interesting if it had covered the period 1900-1989 so as to include Imperial Germany; Weimar Germany; Nazi Germany; West Germany and East Germany. Each of these had its own ideas on nudism; which became mixed up with all kinds of cultural; social; ideological and political factors. The book under review could serve as a building-block for such a work. But not much more.
