Most will probably like itBy OldretireeIt is hard to make a specific recommendation and it really depends on the reader where one may fall on loving this book or finding it just; meh. I am a removed Mainer whos family ties in Georgetown begin in earliest Colonial era down to today. I was looking for not only nice images; but people; my people. Thus; too many of the pictures lack names that would have possibly really interested me.But; the photographs are very informative on earlier days telling how people lived and they did cover a good variety of the Island. But; I expected and hoped for more. To be fair; I suspect most readers would not be so hopeful or demanding on such a book. I will retain this book and hope for more imagery at some other time. I almost wish the writers put a website up showing all the images they decided not to use as well on the hopes I would fine more of the people of my past.0 of 0 people found the following review helpful. Very captivating readBy Sandy E GerviasExcellent for those who have family history in the Georgetown area. For the occasional vacationer here; I would like to have seen some "then and now" photos to make it more identify able to us that are not so familiar with the town. A great book for a beautiful place!
