It is both the story of one mans search for acceptance at home in Biloxi; but by the art world at large. This is the story on one quirky mans search for an identity during rapid social changes and the writer captures what it must have felt like as the South painfully rejoined the nation and the world. George Ohr rode that wave from his pagoda porch in Biloxi Mississippi and to anyone who has a love for U.S. History and/or of pottery; this is a must read.Ellen Lippert is a fine writer with a finely tuned sense of this artist and of the absurd.0 of 0 people found the following review helpful. Five StarsBy PatriciaAn interesting history of George Ohr along with examples of his work and his studio.
