How Musicals Work: And How to Write Your Own (Theatrebook)

ePub How Musicals Work: And How to Write Your Own (Theatrebook) by Julian Woolford in Arts-Photography

Description

In this volume; which is the outcome of the four-year long collaboration project SARA (Scandinavian and Atlantic Rock Art) between the archaeology department at University of Gothenburg and the Laboratory of Heritage of Spanish National Research Council; nine papers summarize new excavation and survey results; advanced studies of iconography and intriguing landscape studies. It addresses topics such as human activities in the vicinity and surroundings of rock-art panels; movement and communication; ritual and symbolism; and finally representations and constructions of landscapes. The book is a sophisticated study of the rock art of two major regions of prehistoric Europe; but one with implications for research over a much wider area. It is wide-ranging; topical and will no doubt also be controversial. Contributors include Per Nilsson; Manuel Santos Esteacute;vez; Yolanda Seoane Veiga; Johan Ling; Asa C. Fredell; Marco Garciacute;a Quintela; Kristian Kristiansen; Lasse Bengtsson and Felipe Criado Boado.

Need to go back and learn to read the music however relying way too much on the tab but I love that it has both as well. I am very surprised how much I have learned so far from a book. This has been a fantastic experience so far and am so happy I choose this book. I ended up buying the Hal Leonard Bass Method complete after this one and so far enjoy this much more.1 of 2 people found the following review helpful. Kindle version is lacking. "Songs" are too short.By Anna OI am writing this review from the point of view of a beginner to bass. I have been buying a bunch of different learning aids for variety and figured this book would be a good addition. Not really. The tracks to play along with are pathetically short and while the sound files are available if you download the book to the Kindle for iPad; you have to press the play button on the screen and quickly find your place on the bass before the clip starts. This is a huge challenge for a beginner. There is no looping feature so when the song ends you have to repeat this over and over again. Since many clips are under 20 seconds; it gets frustrating to try to coordinate all of this for what feels like a few seconds before you have to do it all over again. The layout of the book on the Kindle for iPad is poor. In many instances; the speaker icon that you have to click is at the bottom of the page so you have an extra layer of stuff to do in order to attempt to play along: you have to tap the speaker button; turn the page; and get your fingers in place before the song begins. You dont get a lot of lead in time so it becomes very frustrating if you are just starting out. Ive tried adjusting the text size to push the speaker to the correct page; but it just throws off other pages and the problem recurs. If you are a guitar player that wants to learn bass then this book is probably a good starting point since the foundational skills are already present but as a beginner; Ive relegated this book to archive status on my device.1 of 1 people found the following review helpful. Update skillsBy BassmanI am a guitar player who fills in occasionally on Bass. When I saw this book I thought it might be a good way to dust off my Bass and update my Bass playing skills. It was just what I needed. The book is well organized and moves along at a pace that keeps your interest. The inclusion of a CD of all the lessons (arranged with and without the bass line) so can hear the bass part and then try it on your own with just the backing band is a great way to learn. I would recommend this book (with accompanying CD) to anyone just starting out or as a refresher course. A great purchase.
