I Am Shakespeare

audiobook I Am Shakespeare by Mark Rylance in Arts-Photography

Description

Throughout history; humans have used dance as a benefit for mind; body; and soul. In some cases; governments or churches have banned certain dances for a variety of reasons. This work provides an exploration of dances banned around the world; then revived by a handful of brave proponents. The sixteen case studiesmdash;ranging from Argentinarsquo;s Tango and Cambodiarsquo;s Royal Classical Ballet to Brazilrsquo;s Samba and Irelandrsquo;s Step Dancemdash;reveal the meaning of the dance to each culture and the importance of the art form to the creation of healthy sociological and political climates. Chapters detail each dancersquo;s origins; technical steps and movements; costumes; music; and political history; providing an informative overview of the oppression of dance culture through history. Review
7 of 7 people found the following review helpful. Beware the title- it is not what is seemsBy KodaI felt this book was totally misrepresented. I had asked for book by Bret Michaels and this came up. It said their was no picture available. It said all four of band members authored it. So I paid the ridiculous price and ordered it. When it came I was absolutely furious. What a total waste of my money . It was a book of sheet music- several different songs and only the one by Poison. I showed others the description of the book and all thought it was a book authored by the Poison band members about their years as a group. Nowhere did it state it was sheet music; as I would never have bought it. I will be more careful next time.
