The book was written in 1961; his advice about playing is still sound (for north american players); although these days folks seem to be putting more effort into making reeds that do more for you and require less finesse about embrochure. Im glad to have a copy of my own in my library0 of 0 people found the following review helpful. A must have for any music teacherBy lolwut?I handed this to the oboe player for my citys ballet orchestra and he said this is the best book out there for someone who doesnt know how to play an oboe and wants to learn (whos had musical training on other instruments). I use it when ever I need to teach an oboe class and I get good results from it.0 of 0 people found the following review helpful. Five StarsBy Lynzii OConnorLove this book!
