The Renaissance era was launched in Italy and gradually spread to the Netherlands; Germany; Spain; France; and other parts of Europe and the New World; with figures like Robert Campin; Jan van Eyck; Rogier van der Weyden; Albrecht DYrer; and Albrecht Altdorfer. It was the era that produced some of the icons of civilization; including Leonardo da Vincis Mona Lisa and Last Supper and Michelangelos Sistine Ceiling; Piet^; and David. Marked as one of the greatest moments in history; the outburst of creativity of the era resulted in the most influential artistic revolution ever to have taken place. The period produced a substantial number of notable masters; among them Caravaggio; Donato Bramante; Donatello; El Greco; Filippo Brunelleschi; Masaccio; Sandro Botticelli; Raphael; Titian; and Tintoretto. The result was an outstanding number of exceptional works of art and architecture that pushed human potential to new heights. The A to Z of Renaissance Art covers the years 1250 to 1648; the period most disciplines place as the Renaissance Era. A complete portrait of this remarkable period is depicted in this book through a chronology; an introductory essay; a bibliography; and over 500 hundred cross-referenced dictionary entries on major Renaissance painters; sculptors; architects; and patrons; as well as relevant historical figures and events; the foremost artistic centers; schools and periods; major themes and subjects; noteworthy commissions; technical processes; theoretical material; literary and philosophic sources for art; and art historical terminology.

Most of these songs are out of my reach right now; but I can actually play a few and am confident I will be able to play most; if not all; in a few weeks or months. I like the size of the pages; how it lays out nicely on the music stand and the extra measures this book has for a lot of songs that my other fake books do not include (usually the intro or extra endings). Also; this book is written in the original keys; whereas my other books have the songs transferred to the key of C. I recommend this book for those who can play the melody and the chords; but it may be a bit overwhelming for a beginner who can do only single-note melodies.0 of 0 people found the following review helpful. Love the the book. Hate the Kindle edition.By Martin R LassmanThis is definitely a5 star book. The comments about the editing are spot on; this is the best edited fake book I have ever used. However; the Kindle edition is flawed. The music is small. You can pinch it bigger but then the page will not turn until you return it to the small size. In addition; it does not work with my Bluetooth page turning foot pedal so it is bad for gigs. Great book! The Kindle is a bad format.2 of 2 people found the following review helpful. Excellent arrangements. Pretty good song selections.By C. CandyI dont think Ive seen a better rock fake book; in terms of the quality of the arrangements. All the essential details are there and they seem to be accurate. There is NO TAB; however; and some of the parts are written using very high notes. So; if youre not a very good reader in standard notation; you may have trouble using this book to its fullest. There are a lot of very good songs included; but; as always; its missing some essential songs and includes some songs that are real head scratchers -e.g. whens the last time you heard "Garden Party" on the radio? But; all in all; a great book.
